We will keep this brief: it is documented that both Houston Astros Manager Dusty Baker and Texas Rangers Manager Bruce Bochy have long careers dating back to the 1990s in supporting cheating players in their attempts to win. Somehow, these two clowns still have jobs in MLB and have never suspended for their complicity in multiple cheating scandals each. And still, pathetic fans in Texas continue to cheer the cheats.

We’re tired of documenting facts over and over again in our role as sports historians and sports journalists, so here are some links to review for the data itself and the reality of these two shameless frauds—both of whom are featured extensively in our House that Steroids Built on-going feature:

Do yourselves all a favor and put your support behind either the Arizona Diamondbacks or the Philadelphia Phillies when it comes to winning the World Series. The D’backs have a lower payroll—only $117M, which ranks 21st in the sport—so they’re fighting an uphill battle against Philly (5th, $245M), Houston (7th, $237M), and Texas (4th, $251M). It will take a miracle for Arizona to win it all, in truth.

That’s the only kind of miracle real baseball fans should be rooting for at this point. It’s literally the same for TV market size, as well: Philadelphia (4th), Dallas (5th), and Houston (7th) all outpace Phoenix (11th) when it comes to number of potential ad targets. Remember, it’s always about money in these sports nowadays (except for hockey). Don’t ever think any of this stuff is legitimate or real, because it’s not.

So, go Diamondbacks. Give us a good story to present to history and posterity, for dignity’s sake.
